Sept. 2 First Day Arrival

Please look for me when you get off of the bus or are dropped off by a parent. We line up on the yellow lines by the doors closest to the playground/park.  Do not go to the classroom, as there will not be an adult there.

The first week of school will be tiring so get plenty of rest and be ready to begin your learning adventure.

Student Hours

The school day will be 8:05-3:05. On rare occasions you may need to pick your child up before 3:05, but please note; we are in session right up until 3:00.

Camp Explore is Wednesday and Thursday, August  26 and 27 9:00-11:00.

School officially begins on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 8:05.

Open House is Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 1:15-2:15. Please drop in and get your bus tag and peek in the classroom.

We walk students who take the bus to the gym for dismissal and  students who are picked up at the end of the day can be met in the cafeteria. For safety reasons  please know that students must be signed out from the cafeteria and if another adult is picking up your child, please notify the office and remind the adult to bring a photo ID.

If there are changes in your child’s regular routine, please notify the office. Without a note or contact with the office I will follow your child’s regular dismissal process.

Watch Foster’s newspaper for regular bus pickup and drop off times or check the school district’s website:

Lunch and Snack

We will be having lunch and 2 snacks at school. Please send your child with 2 healthy snacks  and 2 drinks for snack breaks. A leak proof water bottle can be kept at your child’s seat for a quick drink of water any time. Your child may bring a lunch or choose to eat a cafeteria lunch. Lunch forms will be sent home, please note that parents must pay the full price for lunch; $2.25 until they are approved for free or reduced lunch. Snack milk can be purchased for 50 cents and chocolate or white is available.

We will have a special every day. Specials take place out of the classroom and include Library, PE, Art, Music and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). I will send home a Specials schedule after the first week of school.

Volunteer Opportunities

You are welcome to volunteer and visit in the classroom. I love having  families visit. If you would like to volunteer, there are many opportunities available.  If you can prepare materials at home, please let me know as soon as possible. We have some activities just waiting for someone’s attention. There will also be times available to work with students during center activities, as a room parent, and on a drop in basis. More information will be coming in future newsletters.
